Principles

The American Lawyer Academy will work together with lawyers to promote excellence in the legal profession throughout the United States and North America.

A definition of excellence will include, but is not limited to, the principles set out in our Mission Statement and will be furthered by promoting the following ideals in our profession.   These principles include:

Honesty and integrity — embody the principles of fairness, the ability to meet commitments and keep one’s word, and the duty to be intellectually honest and straightforward in interactions with clients, members of the public, and peers and in all professional communication.

Reliability and responsibility — represent accountability to clients, lawyers, professionals, and members of the judiciary.

Self-recognition — recognition of the role of the lawyer in a democratic society and the positive influence that can be made for people of all races, genders, ages, and socioeconomic groups.

Engagement — participation in education of the public in legal matters that affect them and  through the publication of articles on legal topics that provide and understanding of the legal system and provide advice to enhance their everyday lives.

It is by these and other actions that our selected Members will further the principles of our organization.
